Bio:
I retired from Garland ISD in 2024. I spent 26 years in the district as a teacher and administrator. Three years were as a teacher at Hudson Middle School followed by 23 years as an assistant principal at Austin Academy for Excellence, Sellers Middle School, Bussey Middle School and Naaman Forest High School.
I worked with thousands of students and their families through the years bringing together faculty and staff to support them in finding success. As a teacher and administrator, I supported all students and gave special attention to exceptional students on both ends of the learning continuum. I take pride serving as a Special Education administrator, a Gifted and Talented administrator, a 504 administrator, an LPAC administrator, an Advanced Academics Administrator, a CCMR administrator, a CTE administrator, a Fine Arts administrator, an Early College administrator, and an administrator of various academic disciplines.
I am a proud husband of a fellow administrator who grew up attending schools in Garland ISD and later returned as a teacher, instructional coach, and administrator. I am a proud father of four, two former GISD students and two current GISD students who have all benefited from services for exceptional learners.
I have a vested interest to continue to serve students, families, staff members, and the community to build on the successes of Garland ISD.
